About Uncommon Path Brewing
Uncommon Path Brewing is an independent nano brewery and wood-fired kitchen at 710 NW 5th Ave in Fort Lauderdale's Progresso Village, inside the Thrive Art District. We brew small, cook over live fire, and built the room for people who would rather stay four hours than one.
What is Uncommon Path Brewing?
A working brewery with a wood-fired kitchen attached, run as one place rather than two businesses sharing a roof. The beer is small-batch and brewed on-site; the kitchen fires pies over live hardwood; the bar pours curated wine and cocktails as well. Neither side is trying to scale — both are trying to be good. Making beer is the excuse. The real point is the place.
Where is the brewery, and what neighborhood is it in?
We are at 710 NW 5th Ave, Suite 1071, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33311 — Progresso Village, bordering Flagler Village, inside the Thrive Art District. That district was shaped by artists, makers, and people who build things with their hands, and that is why we are here. We did not come to fit in; we came to add something. Free street parking is available on NW 5th Ave and the surrounding blocks, a few minutes from downtown Fort Lauderdale.
What does 'nano brewery' actually mean here?
It means the batches are small enough that every keg matters. There is no volume to hide behind, so a beer either works or it does not, and you taste the difference between one tap and the next. It also means the list turns over quickly — the beer you loved last month may not be on when you come back, which is the trade for getting something specific rather than something consistent.
Who runs it?
It is independently owned and operated — not a chain, not a franchise, and not funded by a bug bounty budget or an ad agency. The owners handle private event bookings themselves, review anything published under our name, and are usually reachable at the bar or on the phone at (954) 765-6016. If something is wrong, telling a person here actually fixes it.
What happens here besides drinking beer?
Jeopardy! Bar League trivia every Tuesday at 7 PM, free to play, with prizes for the top teams. Live local music every Friday at 8 PM. Rotating local artists and murals on the walls year-round through our art program. The taproom itself was designed around slowness — long tables, natural light, a bar you actually want to sit at — which is why the two-hour dinner keeps turning into a four-hour evening.
Is it family- and dog-friendly?
Yes on both. Families are welcome in the taproom and kids order from the food menu. The patio is dog-friendly, and there is both indoor and open-air seating. The taproom has a step-free entrance and an accessible restroom, and service animals are always welcome. Anyone drinking needs valid photo identification showing they are 21 or older.
Can I book the space for a private event?
Yes. We host tiered taproom buyouts for private groups, with custom food and beverage menus, wood-fired catering on-site or off, AV setup, and a dedicated point of contact from planning through cleanup. Our hours are noon daily, closing at 10 PM Monday through Thursday, 11 PM Friday and Saturday, and 8 PM Sunday.
